Joseph Stephens (Observe and Report, Eastbound & Down, Flower, Vice Principals) is the composer of the upcoming Amazon original series Upload. The show is created by Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) and stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson and Kevin Bigley. The sci-fi comedy is set in a technologically advanced future and follows a young app developer who – following a near-death car accident – chooses to be uploaded to her family’s luxurious virtual afterlife. Daniels is also executive producing the Amazon Studios production with Howard Klein (Jessica Jones, The Mindy Project). Upload will premiere later this year exclusively on Amazon Prime.
Stephens will also return to score the second season of HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones and the third season of TBS’ The Last O.G. (premiering on April 7). The composer also has the indie thriller Don’t Tell a Soul written and directed by Alex McAulay and starring Rainn Wilson, Mena Suvari, Fionn Whitehead & Jack Dylan Grazer coming up. The movie centers around two young thieving brothers, with a cancer-stricken mother at home, who match wits with a security guard trapped at the bottom of a forgotten cistern. Chris Mangano (Standing Up, Falling Down) and Merry-Kay Poe are producing the film, which is expected to be released later this year.
