An amazing inside look at the early days of great bravery and commitment to
Meteorological Research. The scientist James Glaisher, (Eddie Redmayne) and hot air balloon Expert Amelia Wren, (Felicity Jones) combine their talents to be the first to fly over 20,000 feet. Glaisher kept careful records of his research, for his
future wish to predict the weather.
They went too high, and It became a life or death situation, when the balloon’s ability to descend froze, and had to be manually fixed. Amelia was the only one to fix it, as Glaisher was out cold.
The movie is so realistic we can feel the cold they go through.
It’s an experience that will stay with you as I’m sure it did with those involved.
