Netflix has announced today that Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, The Bridges of Madison Country, Honeymoon in Vegas) is set to compose new music for a movie adaptation of the stage musical 13: The Musical. Tamra Davis (Billy Madison, Crossroads) is attached to direct the film and Robert Horn (Teen Beach Movie, Good Advice) will adapt the script based on the book he co-wrote with Dan Elis. The movie follows a teenage boy as he grapples with his parents’ divorce, prepares for his impending Bar Mitzvah, and navigates the complicated social circles of a new school. No word yet on a production start date.
