Lorne Balfe has begun recording his score for the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Gemini Man. The film is directed by Ang Lee (Life of Pi, Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and stars Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong. The movie centers on an elite assassin who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move. Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Top Gun, Bad Boys) is producing the project with Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg & Don Granger (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Jack Reacher). Marco Beltrami was originally scoring the movie as reported earlier this year. Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Pacific Rim: Uprising, Genius) has previously scored Skydance’s features Terminator Genisys, Geostorm and Mission: Impossible – Fallout, as well as the Bruckheimer-produced 12 Strong. Gemini Man will be released in theaters nationwide on October 4, 2019 by Paramount Pictures.
Also coming up for Balfe are Michael Bay’s 6 Underground and Peter Cattaneo’s Military Wives. He also recently scored the documentary Where’s My Roy Cohn?, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on September 20 by Sony Pictures Classics.
Ouch so I’m guessing Marco had a falling out so they had to turn to RCP
Or maybe was Jerry Bruckheimer, is famous for destroys composers
Hollywood’s favorite replacement composer strikes again!
I can’t hear the title “Gemini Man” without thinking the 1970s show… and its Lee Holdridge theme music…
