Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Already playing in theaters since this past Wednesday is the horror sequel Annabelle Comes Home directed Gary Dauberman and starring McKenna Grace, Madison Iseman, Katie Sarife, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, The Prodigy, Dark Skies). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening nationwide today is the musical comedy drama Yesterday directed by Danny Boyle and starring Himesh Patel, Lily James, Kate McKinnon and Ed Sheeran. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Ocean’s 8, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) has composed the film’s original score. Universal Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the Beatles covers (performed by Patel) as featured in the movie, as well as tracks by Pemberton. Click here for the full album details.
Opening in limited release is the drama Ophelia directed by Claire McCarthy and starring Daisy Ridley, Naomi Watts, Clive Owen, George Mackay and Tom Felton. The film’s original music is composed by Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Our Planet, Fury, Baby Driver). Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in limited release is the thriller Killers Anonymous directed by Martin Owen and starring Gary Oldman, Jessica Alba, Tommy Flanagan, Rhyon Nicole Brown, Michael Socha, Tim McInnerny, Sam Hazeldine, Suki Waterhouse, Elizabeth Morris and Elliot James Langridge. Roger Goula (The Frankenstein Chronicles, Tiger House, Identicals) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. The movie is being released in select theaters and on VOD by Lionsgate.
Also opening in select theaters is the documentary Maiden directed by Alex Holmes about how Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook in charter boats, became the skipper of the first ever all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World in 1989. The film’s original music composed by Samuel Sim (The Boy, The Spanish Princess, Home Fires) & Rob Manning (Chuck Norris vs. Communism). No soundtrack album has been announced. Also opening in select cities is the football drama The Last Whistle directed by Rob Smat and starring Brad Leland, Deanne Lauvin, Les Miles, Eric Nelsen, Tyler Perez, Fred Tolliver Jr., Kristos Andrews and Jim O’Heir. Logan Austin has composed the film’s original score. Ambulance Graveyard Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as original songs by Pat Green and Chelly.
