Deadline is reporting that RZA is attached to score the upcoming horror thriller Angel of Dust. The Wu-Tang Clan member will also direct the movie, which follows a normal yet exceptionally smart teenager and talented rapper who – after the mysterious death of his parents – is forced to grow up in NY’s roughest inner-city street. RZA is also producing the project with Ghostface Killah and Impossible Dream Entertainment’s Shaun Redick (BlacKkKlansman). Matt Leslie & Stephen J. Smith (The Harrowing, Summer of ’84) wrote the screenplay. The Wu-Tang Clan will also contribute music (produced by Ghostface Killah and Caruso) to the film. No production start and release dates have been announced yet for Angel of Dust.
RZA has also recently scored his last directorial effort, Cut Throat City starring Terrence Howard, Wesley Snipes, Eiza González, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Rob Morgan, Kat Graham, Demetrius Shipp Jr., Denzel Whitaker and Shameik Moore. The movie, which follows four boyhood friends in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward who return after Hurricane Katrina to find their homes decimated, no jobs, and no help from FEMA, will be released later this year by Well Go USA Entertainment.
