Deadline is reporting that the Scottish indie band Belle and Sebastian will make its film scoring debut on the upcoming British coming-of-age comedy Days of the Bagnold Summer. The film is directed by Simon Bird and stars Monica Dolan, Earl Cave, Rob Brydon, Tamsin Greig, Alice Lowe and Elliot Speller-Gillot. The movie revolves around a heavy metal-loving 15 year-old boy whose Florida who must spend six weeks at home with the person who annoys him most in the world: his long-suffering, single mum. Matthew James Wilkinson (Double Date) is producing the project for Stigma Films. Belle and Sebastian’s songs have previously been used in such movies as Juno and High Fidelity. Days of the Bagnold Summer just wrapped principal photography and will be released in the UK in 2019.
