Tyler Bates and Joel J. Richard are set to return as the composers for the upcoming action sequel John Wick 3: Parabellum. The film is directed by Chad Stahelski who helmed the previous installment and co-directed the first part in the series and stars Keanu Reeves,Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick who will reprise their roles from the previous movies. They are joined by Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Jason Mantzoukas, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman and Tiger Hu Chen. Derek Kolstad, Chris Collins & Marc Abrams and Shay Hatten have written the screenplay. Basil Iwanyk (Sicario, The Town) and Erica Lee are producing the Thunder Road Pictures production. Bates and Richard have previously co-scored the first two parts in the series. John Wick 3: Parabellum is set to be released on May 17, 2019 by Lionsgate.
Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, Watchmen) also has the action comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me (opening in theaters this Friday), Emilio Estevez’s The Public (premiering in September at the Toronto Film Festival) and the USA series The Purge and the second season of Netflix’s The Punisher coming up. Richard has recently composed the score for the crime drama Billionaire Boys Club starring Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton, Kevin Spacey & Emma Roberts. The movie is now available on VOD and will be released in select theaters on August 17 by Vertical Entertainment.
