Pathé and Calamity Films announced today that Matt Dunkley will serve as the musical director on the upcoming biographical drama Judy. The film is directed by Rupert Goold (True Story) and stars Renée Zellweger as Judy Garland, alongside Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock and Sir Michael Gambon. The movie follows the legendary performer as she arrives in London in the winter of 1968 to perform a series of sold-out concerts. Tom Edge (The Crown, Lovesick) has written the screenplay. David Livingstone (Pride) is producing the project. Dunkley has previously served as an orchestrator, arranger and conductor on numerous scores by Clint Mansell (Black Swan), Hans Zimmer (Inception), Craig Armstrong (The Great Gatsby), among other composers and also recently released his debut solo album Six Cycles. Judy has just started principal photography in London today. No word yet on a release date.
