Philip Klein is composing the music for the upcoming political drama The Last Full Measure. The film is written and directed by Todd Robinson (White Squall, Phantom) and stars Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Samuel L. Jackson, Grant Gustin, Bradley Whitford, Michael Imperioli and Linus Roache. The movie follows a young Pentagon investigator who reluctantly teams with veterans of the 1966 Operation Abilene to convince Congress to award the Medal of Honor to a courageous Air Force medic who is seen saving the lives of over 60 Marines ambushed during the Vietnam War. Timothy Scott Bogart, Lauren Selig, Julian Adams, Mark Damon, Nicholas Cafritz, Robert Reed Peterson and Shaun Sanghani are producing the project. As reported earlier this year, Jeff Rona was originally attached to score the drama before the film went into production. Klein’s previous credits include 2014’s Growing Up and Other Lies, which he co-scored with Fil Eisler. He also contributed additional music for The Finest Hours (scored by Carter Burwell). The Last Full Measure is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2018.

Probably too late since you are already in post-production, but I’d liken to call your attention to a song written by myself and Larry Grossman titled, “The Last Full Measure Of Devotion”, which was played by various armed service bands and by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Donny Osmond along with the original version sung for a Welcome Home The Troops event by the star of Le Miz which are available for viewing on YouTube in various incarnations. It would seem to be extremely appropriate if you could find a use for it in your film. Please contact me if there is any interest after you have heard it. Thank you. Buz Kohan for One Zee Music (ASCAP
