Joey Stephens has composed the music for the upcoming comedy drama Flower. The film is directed by Max Winkler (Ceremony) and stars Zoey Deutch, Kathryn Hahn, Tim Heidecker, Adam Scott, Joey Morgan and Dylan Gelula. The movie centers on the unlikely bond that forms between a sexually adventurous teenage girl and her obese, mentally unstable step-brother. Winkler also co-wrote the screenplay with Alex McAulay and Matt Spicer (Ingrid Goes West) who is also producing the project with Eric B. Fleischman (Sleight), Brandon James and Sean Tabibian (Carnage Park, The Remains). Executive producers include Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Jody Hill who previously collaborated with Stephens on the 2009 feature Observe and Report and the HBO shows Vice Principals and Eastbound and Down. Flower will premiere next month at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Stephens is also returning to score the second season of HBO’s Vice Principals, which is expected to premiere later this year.
