Evan Lurie is reteaming with actor/director Stanley Tucci on the upcoming drama Final Portrait. The film is written and directed by Tucci and stars Geoffrey Rush, Armie Hammer, Clémence Poésy, Tony Shalhoub, James Faulkner and Sylvie Testud. The movie is based on James Lord’s book A Giacometti Portrait and centers on Swiss painter-sculptor Alberto Giacometti who died in 1966 and is best remembered for his stark and surrealistic sculptures. Gail Egan (A Most Wanted Man, A Little Chaos, Our Kind of Traitor), Nik Bower and Ilann Girard (Lebanon) are producing the project. Lurie who is best known as a founding member of the band The Lounge Lizards has previously scored Tucci’s directorial efforts, Joe Gould’s Secret and Blind Date. His other film scoring credits include Lonesome Jim and Jack Goes Boating. Final Portrait will premiere later this month at the Berlin Film Festival.
