Alex Ebert has been tapped to score the upcoming Showtime original series I’m Dying Up Here. The show is created by Dave Flebotte (Just Before I Go) and stars Melissa Leo, Ari Graynor, Clark Duke, Michael Angarano, Andrew Santino, Erik Griffin, RJ Cyler, Al Madrigal and Jake Lacy. The comedy based on the non-fiction book of the same title by William Knoedelseder is set in L.A.’s famed ‘70s stand-up comedy scene and follows a brassy comedy club owner who mentors up-and-coming comedians with tough love. Flebotte is also executive producing the project with Jim Carrey, Michael Aguilar (The Crazies, What Happens in Vegas) and Christina Wayne (Copper). Ebert who is best known as the lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros has previously scored two features, All Is Lost and A Most Violent Year.
