Craig Wedren is scoring the upcoming comedy How to Be a Latin Lover. The film marks Ken Marino’s feature directorial debut and stars Eugenio Derbez, Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell, Salma Hayek, Raquel Welch, Rob Riggle, McKenna Grace, Michael Cera, Renee Taylor, Rob Huebel, Michaela Watkins and Linda Lavin. The movie follows an aging Latin lover who is forced to return to live with his estranged sister and her young son after being dumped by his sugar mama. Chris Spain and Jon Zack (The Perfect Score, Out Cold) have written the screenplay. Derbez and Ben Odell (Girl in Progress, Compadres) are producing the project for their production company 3Pas Studios. Wedren has previously scored the Marino-produced features Wanderlust and The Ten, as well as the TV series Wainy Days. How to Be a Latin Lover is set to be released on April 28, 2017 by Lionsgate/Pantelion Films.
Wedren is also expected to return as the composer for the second season of Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer, entitled Ten Years Later.
