Soundtrack_Cologne CEO Michael P. Aust announced today that Cliff Martinez will receive the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award on August 27, 2016 during the award ceremony of this year’s Soundtrack_Cologne conference. Martinez who is known for his work on film and as the former drummer of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers has composed the music for such films as Drive, Sex, Lies and Videotapes, Traffic (for which he was nominated for a Grammy Award), Contagion, The Lincoln Lawyer, Solaris, Kafka, Only God Forgives, The Limey and this year’s The Neon Demon. His upcoming projects include War Dogs, The Foreigner and Wolverine 3. At this year’s Soundtrack_Cologne, which will take place from August 24 to 28, other composers who are set to attend include Gary Yershon (Mr. Turner), Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust), Jasmin Reuter (Two Mothers), Jeff Russo (Fargo), Reinhold Heil (Deutschland 83), Miriam Cutler (The Hunting Ground), and Łukasz Targosz (Floating Skyscrapers), Jessica Curry (Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture), Christian Henson (Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag) and Christophe Héral (Rayman Origins).
