Jed Kurzel has signed on to compose the score for the upcoming feature adaptation of the video game series Assassin’s Creed. The film is directed by Justin Kurzel and stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson. The movie centers on Callum Lynch as he explores the memories of his ancestor and gains the skills of a Master Assassin. Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Sixth Sense) is producing the project with Arnon Milchan (The Revenant, 12 Years a Slave), Jean-Julien Baronnet, Conor McCaughan, Fassbender and Pat Crowley (The Bourne Trilogy). Jed Kurzel has previously scored his brother Justin’s previous features, The Snowtown Murders and Macbeth. Assassin’s Creed is set to be released on December 21, 2016 by 20th Century Fox.
As previously reported, Kurzel also has the drama Una (previously entitled Blackbird) starring Rooney Mara & Ben Mendelsohn coming up.
