Hans Zimmer revealed in a recent interview with Gigwise that he is scoring the upcoming drama The Last Face. The film is directed by Sean Penn and stars Charlize Theron, Javier Bardem, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Jean Reno and Jared Harris. The movie follows the director of an international aid organization working in Liberia who embarks on a love affair with a stubborn and impulsive relief-aid doctor. Erin Dignam (The Yellow Hankerchief) has written the screenplay. Bill Pohlad (12 Years a Slave, Into the Wild, Wild) is producing the project with Matt Palmieri (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Bill Gerber (Gran Torino). Zimmer has previously collaborated with Penn on 2001’s The Pledge, which he co-scored with Klaus Badelt. The Last Face is expected to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month.
The composer’s upcoming feature projects also include Gore Verbinski’s A Cure for Wellness, Ron Howard’s Inferno and Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
Zimmer? Who cares? 😀
A lot more people than those who care about your meaningless life, that’s for sure…
I’m with you Linkword. The Hans Zimmer I knew and loved has been long gone. This will probably be just another atmospheric experimental minimalistic bunch of nonsense. Gone are the days of the epic Zimmer.
What is your job you?
