Justin Timberlake will serve as the executive music producer on DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Trolls. He will oversee the creative direction for the film’s music and write and perform several songs on the soundtrack. The movie is directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After) & Walt Dohrn and features the voice talent of Anna Kendrick and Timberlake. The film is based on the Troll dolls – created by Danish woodcutter Thomas Dam in 1959 based on the legendary Scandinavian troll. As previously reported, Christophe Beck is composing the film’s score. Trolls will be released on November 4, 2016 by 20th Century Fox. (The Hollywood Reporter)
Timberlake is also making his film scoring debut on the upcoming drama The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea directed by Bill Purple and starring Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Orlando Jones, Paul Reiser and Mary Steenburgen. The movie follows an introverted architect who sets out to help a homeless teen, to build a raft to sail across the Atlantic. The film is expected to premiere later this year.
