Rob Lane has been hired to score the upcoming ITV original series Beowulf. The fantasy drama is created by James Dormer (Strike Back) and stars Kieran Bew in the title role, alongside William Hurt, Joanne Whalley, Ed Speleers and David Ajala. The show tells the story of Beowulf, a troubled warrior who experiences love and loss yet shares a deep binding comradery with his fellow kinsmen. Tim Haines (Primeval, Walking with Dinosaurs) and Katie Newman (Primeval: New World) are executive producing the ITV Studios production with Dormer. Lane’s previous scoring credits include TV projects such as Longford, Merlin, John Adams and Atlantis, as well as features including The Damned United. Beowulf will premiere in early 2016 on ITV. The series will air in the U.S. on Esquire Network.

I love the theme song for Beowulf and I don’t care that it reminds me of game of thrones. I love Beowulf the tv show! I just saw almost the whole season yesterday. And I can’t wait for the 2nd season!
