Alex Wurman has been hired to score the upcoming Amazon Studios pilot Patriot. The show is created by Steve Conrad (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Weather Man, The Pursuit of Happyness) and stars Michael Dorman, Terry O’Quinn, Michael Chernus, Kathleen Munroe, Aliette Opheim and Kurtwood Smith. The political thriller series follows the complicated life of an intelligence officer whose latest assignment is to prevent Iran from going nuclear. Conrad is also directing the pilot episode and is executive producing the project with Gil Bellows (Temple Grandin), Glen Ficara & John Requa (Crazy Stupid Love, I Love You Phillip Morris) and Charlie Gogolak (Focus). Wurman has previously scored Conrad’s 2008 feature The Promotion starring Seann William Scott & John C. Reilly. The composer’s other previous scoring credits include March of the Penguins, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and HBO’s The Newsroom. The Patriot pilot is set to premiere later this fall on Amazon.
