Universal Music has released a soundtrack album for the drama Timbuktu. The album features the film’s original music composed by Amine Bouhafa. The soundtrack is now available overseas and is available as an import on Amazon. Also visit Spotify to stream the album. No word yet on a domestic release date of the physical version. Timbuktu is directed by Abderrahmane Sissako and stars Ibrahim Ahmed. The movie tells the story of the brief occupation of Timbuktu by militant Islamic rebels and has received strong buzz here on the ground. The drama premiered in competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released domestically in select theaters on January 28, 2015 by Cohen Media Group.
