Dickon Hinchliffe has recently composed the music for the upcoming indie romantic comedy Man Up. The film is directed by Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners Movie) and stars Lake Bell, Simon Pegg, Olivia Williams, Rory Kinnear, Sharon Horgan, Harriet Walter, Ken Stott and Stephen Campbell Moore. The movie follows a single woman who is mistaken for a stranger’s blind date – leading to her finding the perfect boyfriend. Tess Morris has written the screenplay. Nira Park (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs the World) is producing the Big Talk Prods. and Studio Canal production with James Biddle (Cuban Fury, In Fear) and Rachael Prior. Pegg also serves as an executive producer. Man Up is set to be released in early 2015 in the UK. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
As previously reported, Hinchliffe whose previous film scoring credits include Winter’s Bone, Last Chance Harvey, Out of the Furnace and Locke has also recently scored the thriller The Reach starring Michael Douglas & Jeremy Irvine. The movie premiered last week at the Toronto International Film Festival and was picked up by Roadside Attractions/Lionsgate for a domestic release in 2015.
