British music producer Alex Da Kid is developing the original contemporary music for the upcoming movie musical Ziggy. The film is directed by Diesel Schwarze who previously worked with Baz Luhrmann on Moulin Rouge! and Broadway’s La Boheme. The period movie is set to star Dane DeHaan and Rooney Mara and follows a hunchback escape artist who arrives in New York during the mass-culture boom of the late 1920s and falls in love with the fiance of a powerful media mogul. Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine, Half Nelson) are producing the project for their Electric City Entertainment company. Da Kid has produced such hit songs as Eminem’s Love the Way You Lie, Rihanna’s Loud and Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive. The Grammy Award- has also worked together with such artists as 50 Cent, Christina Aguillera, Skylar Grey and Jamie N Commons. Ziggy is currently in development.
