Nathan Barr revealed at last night’s Season 7 premiere of True Blood in Hollywood that he is working on a musical adaptatation of the HBO drama. The composer who has been scoring the show since the pilot episode in 2008 pitched the project to creator and executive producer Alan Ball. The musical will revolve around the series’s lead character of Sookie Stackhouse, portrayed in the show by Anna Paquin. Stephen Moyer who plays Bill Compton already helped Barr to put together some samples to present to HBO and Ball. The composer who is also scoring FX’s The Americans and Netflix’s Hemlock Grove hopes to present a workshop version of the musical in 2015.
