Deborah Lurie has been hired to score the upcoming ABC drama Astronaut Wives Club. The show is created by Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie, Endless Love) and stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Odette Annable, Zoe Boyle, Azure Parsons and Desmond Harrington. The 10-episode limited series is based on the book by Lily Koppel and tells the true story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. Savage is executive producing the Fake Empire, Groundswell Productions and ABC Studios production with Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Len Goldstein (The Carrie Daries), Michael London (Sideways, The Illusionist, The Visitor) and Janice Williams. Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook, The Other Woman) is directing the pilot episode. Lurie has previously scored the comedy Fun Size directed by Schwartz and produced by Fake Empire and Savage. Lurie also has the comedic thriller Murder of a Cat coming up. The movie recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and is currently awaiting a domestic distribution deal.
