Lyle Workman is composing the original music for the new CBS comedy Bad Teacher. The show is based on the 2011 feature starring Cameron Diaz and follows a fearless and unapologetic former trophy wife who masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her penniless. The series stars Ari Graynor, Kristin Davis, David Alan Grier, Sara Gilbert, Ryan Hansen and Sara Rodier. Gene Stupnitsky & Lee Eisenberg (The Office, Year One) who produced the movie version are executive producing the Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios production with Hilary Winston (Community, My Name is Earl), Jimmy Miller (Step Brothers, The Other Guys), Sam Hansen and Michael Lasker. Michael Andrews composed the score for Jake Kasdan’s feature version. Bad Teacher will premiere this Thursday, April 24, and will air every Thursday on CBS. Workman whose previous scoring credits include such films as Superbad, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Win Win and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone has also scored the documentary The Green Girl. The film directed by George A. Pappy Jr. about Star Trek’s iconic original Green Girl, Susan Oliver will premiere later this month at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto.
