David Julyan is set to score the upcoming sci-fi romance Second Origin. The film is directed by Carlea Porta and stars Rachel Hurd-Wood, Andrés Batista, Ibrahim Mane and Sergi López. The movie based on the Spanish bestselling novel Mecanoscrit del Segon Origen by Manuel de Pedrolo is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows two young people who are struggling to survive in a world left in ruins. Oscar Rodriguez is producing the project for Antàrtida Produccions, alongside Christine Alderson (Valhalla Rising) for Ipso Facto Productions. Second Origin is currently being shot in Lleida and Barcelona. No word yet on a release date.
Julyan who is best known for his work on Chris Nolan’s Memento, The Prestige and Insomnia and the horror films The Descent and The Cabin in the Woods also has the horror comedy The Rules of the Game coming up. The movie is directed by Edward McGown and stars Jack Gordon, Charlie Bewley, Jack Doolan, Obi Abili and Mike Noble. The film about a group of friends on a stag weekend who are picked off by a dark force called “The Hunter” is currently in post-production.
