Neil Davidge has signed on to score the upcoming sci-fi sequel Monsters: Dark Continent. The film is directed by Tom Green (Misfits) and stars Johnny Harris, Sam Keeley and Joe Dempsie. The movie takes place a couple of years after the original film directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) as Infected Zones have spread across the world and US military try to wipe out the monsters. Jay Basu has written the screenplay. Allan Niblo & Jay Richardson (The Sweeney, StreetDance) and Ben Pugh & Rory Aitken (Welcome to the Punch) are producing the Vertigo Films production. Edwards serves as an executive producer on the sequel alongside actor Scoot McNairy. Jon Hopkins scored the original movie. Monsters: Dark Continent is currently in post-production and is expected to be released later this year.
As previously reported, the former Massive Attack member who has previously composed the music for the video game Halo 4 and such features as Push also has the crime thriller Good People starring James Franco, Kate Hudson, Omar Sy and Tom Wilkinson coming up.
