The Scottish indie pop band Belle & Sebastian is composing the score for the British TV comedy The Dog Thrower. The show is written and directed by Jon Ronson and stars Matthew Perry, Tim Key and Kimberley Nixon. The ITV production tells the story of a nervous young man who attempts to become popular by copying a charismatic man who is throwing his dog in the air in front of a crowd. The comedy is part of the Playhouse series on Sky Arts and is produced by Runaway Fridge. The band has previously written original music for Todd Solondz’s 2011 indie Storytelling. Songs from Belle & Sebastian have also been featured in such films as Juno, The Devil Wears Prada and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The Dog Thrower is set to premiere on May 1, 2014 on Sky Arts.
