John Paesano is composing the music for the upcoming sports drama When the Game Stands Tall. The film is directed by Thomas Carter and stars Jim Caviezel, Laura Dern, Michael Chiklis and Alexander Ludwig. The movie follows the high school team of De La Salle and its young coach Bob Ladouceur who turned the perennial loser into a legend by launching a streak of 138 straight victories. Scott Marshall Smith (The Score, Men of Honor) has written the screenplay based on the book of the same title by Neil Hayes. David Zelon (Soul Surfer, Into the Blue) is producing the Mandalay Pictures production. Carter has previously collaborated with such composers as James Horner (Swing Kids), Mark Isham (Save the Last Dance) and Trevor Rabin (Coach Carter). As previously reported, Paesano also has the young adult novel film adaptation of The Maze Runner, as well as the NBC drama Crisis starring Gillian Anderson & Dermot Mulroney coming up.
