This evening, the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards were handed out at the Mack Sennett Studios in Hollywood. Susan Jacobs received the honor in the Best Music Supervision in Motion Picture – Motion Picture Over 35M category for her work as music supervisor on David O. Russell’s American Hustle. In the Motion Picture Over 35M category, T Bone Burnett received the award for his music supervision on the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. In the Independent Motion Pictures Under 10M category, Gabe Hilfer took home the prize for his work on Derek Cianfrance’s indie drama The Place Beyond the Pines. Among the music supervisors honored for their work on TV were Frankie Pine who received the award in the Best Music Supervision in Television Comedy or Musical category for ABC’s Nashville, Thomas Gulobic who was awarded in the Television Drama category for AMC’s hit drama Breaking Bad and Evyen Klean who received the honor in the Television Long Form and Movies category for his work on HBO’s Behind the Candelabra. In the Documentary category, Jill Meyers received the award for her work on Muscle Shoals. In addition, Warner Brothers (The Great Gatsby, Gravity, Her, Man of Steel) was chosen as the Best Film Studio Music Department and ABC Cable Networks/Disney Channel was honored as the Best Television Studio Music Department.
