Tree Adams has recently composed the score for the upcoming drama Reach Me. The movie is directed by John Herzfeld (15 Minutes, 2 Days in the Valley) and stars Sylvester Stallone, Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Berenger, Kevin Connolly, Thomas Jane, Kelsey Grammer, Nelly, Danny Aiello, Terry Crews, Lauren Cohan, Elizabeth Henstridge, Cary Elwes, Ryan Kwanten, David O’Hara and Omari Hardwick.. The film follows a group of very different people connected by a self-help book written by a reclusive football coach whose lives intertwine and eventually collide. Rebekah Chaney and Cassian Elwes (Lee Daniels’ The Butler, The Paperboy) are producing the Seraphim Films and Paradox Entertainment production. Adams has taken over scoring duties from BT who was previously attached to score the project. Reach Me will be released in 2014.
The composer has also recently composed the music for the action thriller Swelter. The film is written and directed by Keith Parmer and stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Alfred Molina, Lennie James and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The movie follows the former head of a gang that pulls off a $100 million robbery of the Luxor Casino in Las Vegas when his partners are captured and are spend time in a maximum-security prison. Eventually, they escape and track down their former boss, only to find him working as a sheriff in a small town with no memory of his violent past. Alan Simpson and Chris Ranta are producing the Grand Peaks Entertainment and The Exchange production. Swelter has recently sold to various international markets and a domestic distribution deal is currently being negotiated.
Adams is also scoring the upcoming USA comedy Sirens. The show is created by Denis Leary (Rescue Me) & Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers, We’re the Millers) and stars Michael Mosley, Kevin Daniels, Jessica McNamee and Kevin Bigley. The series follows three of Chicago’s best EMTs whose sometimes silly, self-righteous and even self-destructive personalities make them unqualified for sustaining relationships, friendships and most occupations. Leary and Fisher are also executive producing the Apostle and Daybreak Pictures production with Jim Serpico (Rescue Me) and Hal Vogel (Endgame), David Aukin (Hyde Park on Hudson) & David Leach. Sirens is set to premiere in March on USA.
Also coming up for Adams is the Lifetime original movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax. The film is directed by Nick Gomez (Drowning Mona) and stars Christina Ricci, Clea DuVall and Billy Campbell. The movie tells the story of a Fall River, Mass. resident who was tried and acquitted in the 1892 ax murders of her father and stepmother. Judith Verno (Masters of Sex) is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production. The movie is set to premiere on January 25, 2014 on Lifetime.
The composer has also recently finished work on the score for the final season of Showtime’s Californication (co-scored with Tyler Bates), which will premiere in January. Adams will also return to score the third season of USA’s Perception.
