Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for Disney’s classic musical Mary Poppins. The 50th Anniversary Edition features the film’s original songs composed by Richard Sherman and Robert Sherman performed by the movie’s cast. Also included are previously unreleased Sherman Brothers demo recordings. The soundtrack will be released later this month and coincides with the 50th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD release of the film to be released on December 10, 2013. Mary Poppins is directed by Robert Stevenson and stars Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns, Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber. The film was nominated for 13 Academy Awards and received 5 awards, including Best Actress and Best Song (Chim Chim Cher-ee).
