Rob Lane has been hired to score the upcoming mini-series Klondike. The television event marks Discovery Channel’s first scripted project and stars Sam Shepard, Richard Madden, Abbie Cornish, Ian Hart, Johnny Simmons, Conor Leslie, Tim Roth, Augustus Prew, Marton Csokas and Tim Blake Nelson. The series is based on the novel Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich In The Klondike by Charlotte Gray and tells the story of six strangers and their collective fight for survival and wealth in a small frontier town in the remote Klondike. Simon Cellan Jones is directing the six-hour series from a script by Paul Scheuring (Prison Break, Zero Hour), Josh Goldin (Darkman) and Rachel Abramowitz. The Scott Free, Discovery Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures production is executive produced by Ridley Scott & David W. Zucker (The Good Wife), John Morayniss & Michael Rosenberg (Hung, The Firm), Eileen O’Neill & Dolores Gavin and Scheuring. Lane’s previous scoring credits include BBC’s Merlin, HBO’s Longford and John Adams and the feature The Damned United. Klondike is set to premiere in 2014. So pleased to see him on this. Great work on several historical mini-series. Must say, over the last few years the music on many Discovery programmes has been rather excellent.
Sounds are similar to game of thrones theme music
The opening theme music sounds like the same composer as Game of Thrones. Can anyone shed any light on this subject?
Hollywood doesn’t like originality. And loves temp tracking (Assuming that is the case).
