David Torn has signed on to score the upcoming romantic comedy Are We Officially Dating?. The film is written and directed by Tom Gormican and stars Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Imogen Poots, Jessica Lucas and Josh Pais. The movie follows three guys who decide to support a friend devastated by a recent breakup by vowing to maintain their single status for as long as possible. Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen (Arbitrage, All Is Lost) are producing the project for Treehouse Pictures, along with Scott Aversano (Failure to Launch, Killers) and Andrew O’Connor (Peep Show). Torn’s previous film scoring credits as a composer include such titles as Lars and the Real Girl, The Wackness, Everything Must Go and Friday Night Lights. Are We Officially Dating? has recently been picked up by FilmDistrict for domestic distribution. The comedy is set to be released nationwide on January 31, 2014.
