Frederik Wiedmann has been hired to score the upcoming Warner Bros. Animation series Beware The Batman. The show is a new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise and features such characters as Alfred, Katana, Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. The series’ voice talent includes Anthony Ruivivar, J. B. Blanc, Lance Reddick, Sumalee Montano, Kurtwood Smith, Udo Kier and Cree Summer. Wiedmann has previously scored Green Lantern: The Animated Series for Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment. Beware the Batman is set to premiere later this year on Cartoon Network.
Wiedmann has also composed the music for the latest entry in the DC Universe Original Animated Movies series: Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, also produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. The film is directed by Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns), produced by James Tucker (Superman Unbound) and features a voice cast including Justin Chambers, Kevin McKidd, Michael B. Jordan, C. Thomas Howell, Nathan Fillion, Ron Perlman, Sam Daly and Kevin Conroy. The composer recorded his score with a 30-piece orchestra in Los Angeles. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 30, 2013 by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
The composer’s recent projects also include the drama Company of Heroes. The film directed by Don Michael Paul follows a team of American soldiers that is lost behind enemy lines during the Battle of the Bulge and discovers a super bomb in development. Tom Sizemore, Chad Michael Collins, Neal McDonough, Vinnie Jones and Jurgen Prochnow are starring in the film, which is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
