According to the film’s new trailer, Matthew Margeson is scoring the upcoming superhero action comedy sequel Kick-Ass 2. The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down, Cry Wolf) and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse who all return from the 2010 original film and are joined by Jim Carrey who portays Sal Bertolinni aka Colonel Stars and Stripes. Donald Faison, Clark Duke, John Leguizamo and Morris Chestnut are co-starring. Wadlow has also written the screenplay based on the characters from the comic book Hit-Girl by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. Matthew Vaughn who directed the first part is producing the Marv Films and Plan B production with Brad Pitt, Adam Bohling (Layer Cake), Targquin Pack and David Reid. The project will marks Margeson’s second major studio release following 2010’s Skyline. He previously served as an additional music arranger on the first Kick-Ass installment (which featured music by Henry Jackman, John Murphy, Ilan Eshkeri and Marius De Vries) and has written additional music for numerous films scored by Jackman. I am sure he will do a great job. Wonder of the money was too low for Jackman or perhaps a scheduling conflict, so he will supervise Matthew?
