Trevor Morris has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Olympus Has Fallen. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Gerard Butler as a disgraced Secret Service agent who is called back to duty when the White House is taken over by terrorists. Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, Cole Hauser and Radha Mitchell and Rick Yune are co-starring. Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt have written the screenplay and Fuqua is producing the Millennium Films production with Butler, Ed Cathell III (The Paperboy), Danny Lerner (The Expendables 2), Alan Siegel & Mark Gill (Law Abiding Citizen). Fuqua has previously collaborated with such composers as Hans Zimmer (King Arthur, Tears of the Sun), Mark Mancina (Training Day, Shooter), Harry Gregson-Williams (The Replacement Killers) and Marcelo Zarvos (Brooklyn’s Finest). Olympus Has Fallen will be released nationwide on March 22, 2013 by FilmDistrict.
Morris also continues to score the Showtime hit series The Borgias, which is scheduled to return for a third season later this year. The final episodes of the ABC series 666 Park Avenue scored by the composer are set to premiere this summer.
Oh, I preferred Mark Mancina. He is not working much in the movies. It’s a shame…
