Joby Talbot has been hired to score John Crowley’s upcoming currently Untitled International Suspense Thriller. The film stars Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall as two ex-lovers who find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they are joined together on the defense team in a terrorism trial. Julia Stiles, Jim Broadbent, Ciarán Hinds, Riz Ahmed, Kenneth Cranham and Anne-Marie Duff are co-starring. Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) has written the screenplay and Eric Fellner & Tim Bevan (Atonement, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) are producing the Focus Features and Working Titles Films production with Chris Clark (The Guard). Adriano Goldman (Jane Eyre) is the film’s cinematographer. Talbot has previously collaborated with Crowley (Boy A, Intermission) on his last directorial effort Is Anybody There? starring Michael Caine. The composer’s best known previous film credits include The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Penelope and Franklyn. Crowley’s currently untitled suspense thriller is expected to be released in 2013.
In related news, The Royal Ballet’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which Talbot scored, makes its U.S. debut in Los Angeles this Friday, October 19, at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The show based on Lewis Carroll’s book is choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon and features the National Ballet of Canada.
