Robert Kraft is leaving Fox Music after 18 years with the studio. He joined Fox Music in 1994 as chief executive and became president in 1998. He has overseen and the music for all Fox films during that time including the scores and soundtracks for such hit films as Titanic, Avatar, Moulin Rouge!, Slumdog Millionaire, Black Swan and Walk the Line. He also supervised the music for Fox Television productions, including such hit shows as The X-Files, 24, Ally McBeal and The Simpsons. Kraft has also produced and written numerous songs for film and was Academy Award-, Golden Globe- and Grammy-nominated for co-writing the song Beautiful Maria of My Soul with Arne Glimcher for 1992’s The Mambo Kings. He received another Golden Globe nomination for the song How Can I Not Love You (shared with composer George Fenton and Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds) for 1999’s movie adaptation of Anna and the King. According to the studio’s official announcement, Kraft is creating a new venture to develop musical films and television shows. (Variety, Deadline)
