The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and the California Film Institute have announced a new partnership to produce the first-ever Mill Valley ASCAP Music Café, a series of music showcases at this year’s Mill Valley Film Festival (October 4-14). The Mill Valley ASCAP Music Café will take place from October 11-13 and feature an assortment of composers, songwriters and artists from across the musical spectrum and around the world. It will be dedicated to showcasing the exceptional talent of emerging and established artists, including solo acts and major bands, and it will be a place where independent filmmakers can meet and interact with composers and songwriters to encourage collaboration between these two creative communities. The Mill Valley ASCAP Music Café will run at the Sweetwater Music Hall & Cafe, located at 19 Corte Madera Ave, Mill Valley, CA 94941. Performances run each day from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. A complete line-up and schedule of artists and bands will be announced on September 12, 2012. Visit the official film festival website and ASCAP for more information.
