Deborah Lurie has written the underscore for the upcoming documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me. The 3D concert film is directed by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz and takes a look at the international superstar’s life both on- and off-stage. The movie documents Perry’s California Dreams Tour (consisting of 124 performances), which started over a year ago. Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) is producing the documentary for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Perry herself, as well as Martin Kirkup, Bradford Cobb and Steven Jensen of Direct Management. Craig Brewer who has collaborated with Lurie on last year’s Footloose is among the executive producers of the project. Lurie has previously scored last year’s hit documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which was produced by Cutforth and Lipsitz. Katy Perry: Part of Me will be released nationwide on July 5, 2012 by Paramount’s Insurge Pictures. For more information about the film, visit the official movie website.
