Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Horrible Bosses directed by Seth Gordon and starring Jason Bateman, Jason Sudekis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx features music by Christopher Lennertz. The composer collaborated with several musicians, including Money Mark, Mick McCready, Dave Levita, Chris Chaney, Stefan Lessard, Victor Indrizzo and DJ Cheapshot on the score. Also opening wide is the family comedy Zookeeper directed by Frank Coraci and starring Kevin James, Rosario Dawso, Leslie Bibb, Donnie Wahlberg and the voices of Sylvester Stallone, Adam Sandler, Nick Nolte, Cher, Jon Favreau and Judd Apatow. The film’s score is written by Rupert Gregson-Williams. As with most movies from Sandler’s production company Happy Madison Productions, no score album has been released. Opening in limited release is the thriller The Ledge directed by Matthew Chapman stars Liv Tyler, Charlie Hunnam, Patrick Wilson and Terrence Howard. The film’s music is by composer Nathan Barr. Also opening in select cities is the horror thriller The Ward directed by John Carpenter and starring Amber Heard, Lyndsy Fonseca, Danielle Panabaker, Jared Harris and Mamie Gummer. Mark Kilian composed the score for the film. A soundtrack album featuring Kilian’s score will be released on August 9 by Varese Sarabande. Also opening in limited release is the documentary Project Nim. The film’s score is written by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Last Chance Harvey). No soundtrack release plans have been announced for the film directed by James Marsh (Man on Wire) about a historic experiment to try to teach a chimpanzee language while raising the primate like a human child. Also receiving a limited release is the action adventure Ironclad directed by Jonathan English and starring Brian Cox, Paul Giamatti, Kate Mara, James Purefoy and Derek Jacobi. The final limited release of the week is the French thriller The Chameleon directed by Jean-Paul Salome and starring Marc-Andre Grondin, Famke Janssen and Ellen Barkin. Jeff Cardoni (Just Friends, CSI: Miami) composed the music for the film. No soundtrack is available, but a couple of tracks can be listened to on Cardoni’s official website.
