Michael Price is scoring the upcoming British 3D kids pic Horrid Henry: The Movie. The film is based on the successful children’s property by Francesca Simon and stars Anjelica Huston, Richard E. Grant, Rebecca Front, Parminder Nagra, Kimberly Walsh, Noel Fielding, Mathew Horne, Prunella Scales and Jo Brand. The movie about Horrid Henry’s ongoing battle against the tyranny of adults is directed by Nick Moore who previously collaborated with Price on the 2008 comedy Wild Child starring Emma Roberts. Horrid Henry: The Movie is produced by Vertigo Films, the company behind last year’s indie hit Monsters and Street Dance 3D. The film will be released on July 29, 2011 in the UK. Price is probably best known for co-scoring the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring BBC series Sherlock Holmes with David Arnold. The first series has recently won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Drama Series and the second series is expected to premiere later this year on BBC. The composer also has the drama Cheerful Weather for the Wedding coming up. The film marks the feature directing debut of Donald Rice and tells the story story of a girl’s wedding day. The movie stars Felicity Jones (The Tempest, the upcoming Sundance winner Like Crazy), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Luke Treadaway (Clash of the Titans). Teun Hilte (Black Book) and Alexandra Arlango (The Duchess) are producing. No release date has announcement has been made yet.
Also coming up for the composer is the drama 7lives written and directed by Paul Wilkins and starring Danny Dyer and Kate Ashfield. The movie is also still awaiting a release date.
