Hans Zimmer has written the music for the public awareness short film Who Are the Roma?. The film was produced by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in honor of the 40th anniversary of International Roma Day and to celebrate the culture and achievements of the Roma people, commonly called “gypsies”. Zimmer’s music features Aleksey Igudesman on solo violin. Igudesman previously performed on Zimmer’s score for Sherlock Holmes and he is also co-scoring the upcoming documentary Jealous of the Birds with Zimmer.
