Jon Brion has been chosen as the composer for the upcoming indie drama The Future. The movie is written and directed by Miranda July and also features her in the film’s leading role. The film co-stars Hamish Linklater and David Warshofsky. July previously wrote and directed 2005’s indie hit Me and You and Everyone We Know, which featured a score by Michael Andrews. The Future centers around a couple that decides to adopt a stray cat which changes their perspective on life changes radically, literally altering the course of time and space and testing their faith in each other and themselves.
