Intrada Records has announced a new release of Jerry Goldsmith’s score to Franklin J. Schaffer-directed 1970 classic Patton. The 2 disc release includes both the original soundtrack, as well as the original 1970 Fox album which Goldsmith recorded with London musicians. The depiction of the World War II phase of the controversial American general’s career starring George S. Scott and Karl Malden won seven Academy awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. Goldsmith’s score was one of the film’s 10 nomination. Intrada has also announced a new limited edition of the world premiere CD release of Charles Bernstein’s score for Gator. In the 1976 action drama, agents force an ex con to help them nab a corrupt politician. The movie is directed and stars Burt Reynolds. The soundtrack album is limited to 1200 copies and can be ordered at Intrada.
