Brian Tyler has been hired to score the pilot of the TV show Hawaii Five-O. The show is based on the classic TV show from the 60’s with the same name revolving around an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police. The show’s cast include Daniel Dae Kim, Alex O’Loughlin, Grace Park, James Marsters and Scott Caan. The show will be produced by Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, who wrote and produced episodes of Fringe and Alias and wrote such features as The Island, Mission: Impossible III, Star Trek and both Transformers movies. They also produced the DJ Caruso-directed Eagle Eye, which was scored by Brian Tyler. Hawaii Five-O will air on CBS starting this fall if it gets picked up. No information yet on Tyler’s involvement in the show if it goes on air.
