Heitor Pereira has been hired to score the upcoming romantic comedy drama From Prada To Nada. The movie is a Latina spin on Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility,” where two spoiled sisters who have been left penniless after their father’s sudden death are forced to move in with their estranged aunt in East Los Angeles. The movie stars Camilla Belle, Alexa Vega and Adriana Baraza and is scheduled to be released by Lionsgate in 2011.
Pereira also is currently working on the animated feature Despicable Me from Illumination Entertainment in collaboration with Universal Pictures. The movie’s voice talent includes Jason Segel, Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Will Arnett, Julie Andrews and Russell Brand. In the movie, a trio of orphan girls cause the normally deplorable Gru to rethink his plan to steal the moon. According to the Gorfaine/Schwartz agency, Hans Zimmer acts as a score producer on the movie. A press release from Universal earlier this year also indicated that Pharrell Williams will be involved in writing the score, as well as the movie’s songs (for more information, check out this news enrty on Slash Film). The movie will be released on July 9.
