David Schweitzer (Emma, Our Great National Parks, Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King, Wonders of Life, Four Hours at the Capitol) has composed the original score for the new comedy My Happy Ending. The film is directed by Tal Granit & Sharon Maymon (The Farewell Place, A Matter of Size) and stars Andie MacDowell, Miriam Margolyes, Rakhee Thakrar, Sally Phillips, Tom Cullen, Tamsin Greig, Michelle Greenidge and David Walliams. The movie follows a famous actor who goes incognito to seek treatment for a medical issue and – while at the hospital – meets three unique women – a young mother, an aging rocker, and a forever single retired schoolteacher. Rona Tamir wrote the screenplay based on the Israeli play SOF TOV by Anat Gov. Talia Kleinhendler & Osnat Handelsman Keren (The Lost Daughter, The Kindergarten Teacher) are producing the project for Pie Films, alongside Hannah Leader (All the Devil’s Men, The Christmas Candle) for BBM and Daisy Allsop (Tell It to the Bees) for Archface. My Happy Ending will be released in U.S. theaters on February 24, 2023 by Roadside Attractions.
Schweitzer has also recently scored the Apple TV+ travel series The Reluctant Traveler hosted and executive produced by Eugene Levy. The 8-parter, which follows Levy as he visits some of the world’s most beautiful and intriguing destinations in Costa Rica, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Finland, Maldives, Portugal and the United States, will premiere on February 24 on Apple TV+.
